A facelift a surgical procedure that removes wrinkles from the face. The procedure is typically done by a plastic surgeon and for cosmetic reasons. It provides patients with a more refreshed and youthful appearance. A facelift uses carefully placed incisions located at or behind the hairline and in front of or behind the ears to access the muscles in the face so they may be repositioned to create a firmer, more toned profile. Skin is also tightened and excess tissue is trimmed away, so the face appears smoother and wrinkles, lines, and sagging skin are eliminated. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia, but some techniques can be performed using sedation.
Rhinoplasty, or “nose jobs,” use a variety of techniques to alter the appearance of the nose and the nostrils so the face appears more balanced and aesthetically pleasing. Procedures can be customized to address issues like the size of the nose, bumps in the bridge or upper portion of the nose, nostrils that appear too large or uneven, issues affecting just the tip of the nose, and a nose that appears too wide or too broad. Because the nose plays such a prominent role in the appearance of the face, rhinoplasty can often have a dramatic effect on the appearance of the entire face, and patients undergoing rhinoplasty often benefit from a high level of self-confidence.
Eyelid surgery is performed as an aesthetic, or cosmetic, procedure. Generally, aesthetic operations are done to alter the look of the person’s eyes, most often due to the signs of aging. They can also be used to improve conditions affecting the function of the eyes. A brow lift also referred to as a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure that helps reduce the lines, creases, and folds in the forehead area. It can also remove vertical lines between eyebrows, and help lift eyebrows higher on the forehead. Also called otoplasty, ear pin back surgery uses techniques to reshape and reposition the ears so they do not project outward from the sides of the head at a significant angle. Pinning back the ears helps them remain closer to the sides of the head for a more pleasing appearance.
